Sparta veteran to highlight Blunt 'Thank you' event

Decorated veteran Lt. Gen. Marc Rogers, Air Force Inspector General and Sparta native, will guest speak at an upcoming "Thank you" event for Vietnam veterans.
Honoring the 35th anniversary of the final American troops' departure from the war-torn country April 30, 1975, U.S. representatives Roy Blunt and Jo Ann Emerson will host the event at noon, May 2, at Branson's Yakov Theater.
"Regardless of your political point of view, men and women deserve our thanks and gratitude for their devotion to the Constitution," Blunt said in a news release. "I will be delighted to join Congresswoman Emerson and Gen. Rogers to say 'Thanks' to the veterans of Vietnam."
Registration for the event starts at 10 a.m. at the theater, but accommodations will be made regardless of registration.
