National Geographic called it “The most dangerous eight seconds in sports.” With the arena stands full, more than 30 cowboys from near and far lined up to muster their courage and their bovine during the annual Ozark Booster Club Bull Ride June 4 and 5.
“We were very happy with the results,” said Booster Club veteran Mike Crain. “Everything came together really well.”
During two nights of riding, rodeo fans had enjoyed thrills and spills courtesy of riders from Ozark to Mississippi. During Friday night’s action, Michael Manes walked away with the overall win with a score of 87, as well as $1,080. Second went to Brandon Wesson, followed by Levi Shrable and Kyle Maxwell.
During Saturday’s round, Sparta’s Dustin Rains took home the victory with a total score of 164 combined with $1,128 in prize money. Rains was trailed by Mason Lowe, Jesse Monroe and Maxwell.
